SD card exception handling on the recorder
Sep 23, 2022| There are a few common reasons why an SD card might not be recording footage properly. Checking these things can help to troubleshoot and fix the problem.
1. Is the SD card formatted?
If the SD card isn't formatted, it won't work properly. Make sure to format the card using the camera's specific instructions, and not on a computer.
There are a few things you can check if your SD card is not recording. The first thing to check is if the SD card is formatted. To format the SD card, insert it into the camera and press the Menu button. Go to Format and press OK. Confirm that you want to format the card by pressing Yes.
2. Does the motion detection function take effect?
If the motion detection function isn't working, the SD card might not record anything even if there is motion in front of the camera. Make sure to test the motion detection function to see if it's working properly.
If the SD card is not formatted, you will not be able to record footage onto it. The second thing to check is if the motion detection function is taking effect. To do this, go to the Live View menu and select Motion Detection. Make sure that there is a check mark next to Enable Motion Detection. If there isn't, press the OK button to place a check mark next to it.
You can also test whether or not motion detection is working by triggering it manually. To do this, press and hold the OK button while looking through the viewfinder until Motion Detection activates. When you release the button, it will deactivate. If you see a live view with white bars on either side, that means motion detection is working correctly.
3. Is the SD card an expansion card/low-speed card?
Some SD cards aren't compatible with security cameras or might not work as well. Make sure to use an SD card that is specifically designed for security cameras.
The third thing to check is if the SD card is an expansion card/low-speed card. An expansion card is a type of SD card that can be used in different devices, such as cameras and mobile phones. A low-speed card is a type of SD card that does not have a high data transfer rate and cannot be used in devices that require a high data transfer rate, such as digital cameras and camcorders.
To check if your SD card is an expansion card/low-speed card, go to Settings and select General Settings. Scroll down to Device Information and look for Card Type. If it says anything other than Secure Digital (SD), your SD card is an expansion card/low-speed card.
4. Is the preview time of IPC correct?
If the preview time is incorrect, it can cause problems with recording footage onto the SD card. Make sure to check that the preview time is set correctly in order to ensure proper recording.
If your SD card is not an expansion card/low-speed card, you may need to purchase another one that is compatible with your camera or camcorder.
Thing to check is if the preview time of IPC is correct. To do this, go into the settings of IPC and find the preview time option. By default, it should be set to five seconds, but if it has been changed, make sure that it matches what is set on the camera itself.
